A Heritage carved in stone
For millennia, the Arcadian land of Zevgolatio has stood as a silent witness to history.
From the epic verses of Homer, who praised the abundance of sheep in our region, to the detailed accounts of the ancient traveler Pausanias, Zevgolatio has always been more than just a dot on the map.
It was a vital part of the ancient Mantineia plateau, a place where myth met reality. Even the stones here have stories to tell, from the ancient ruins of Orchomenos to the echoes of travelers who found refuge in our fertile plains throughout the centuries.
The Soul of the Arcadian High Plateau
Located at a unique altitude, our village benefits from a microclimate that is nothing short of a natural miracle.
The cool mountain nights and the intense Arcadian sun create the perfect conditions for the earth to thrive. This is the birthplace of Moschofilero, or “Philouria” as our grandfathers used to call it.
It is a rose-coloured grape that yields white wines of exquisite aroma, with notes of rose petals and citrus that capture the very essence of our mountains.

Our community is proud to produce the P.D.O. Delicious apples of Tripoli, known for their distinct aroma and crisp texture, as well as premium dairy products that carry the purity of our pastures.
Every autumn, the traditional distillation of “Tsipouro” becomes a communal celebration, a ritual of hospitality that welcomes every visitor as a friend.

Every July, our Youth Festival brings a vibrant energy to the village, while in early September the Wine Festival celebrates the new harvest with music and local flavours.
One of our most cherished moments is the Feast of the Ascension at our mountain chapel, a serene tradition that offers breathtaking views and a true sense of community.
